Speech Title: Experimental and numerical investigation of the heat transfer performance of the PCM for a solar storage tank
Abstract: Concentrating solar power (CSP) plant coupling with thermal energy storage is a popular technology in the recent years. The storage technology is the wave of the future in solar utilization field. A lot of scholars focus on studying of heat transfer performance by the experimental or simulating method. In our research, the air and nitrate salt have been selected as the heat transfer fluid (HTF) and phase change material (PCM), respectively. According to analyze the traditional cylindrical shell-and-tube TES tank, a novel truncated cone shell-and-tube TES tank has been established, and some new parameters have been proposed. The aim of this study is to investigate the heat transfer performance of the storage tank and provide a good reference to utilize solar energy.
